Reading Comprehension:
The program is designed to enhance your ability to answer the types of comprehension questions that appear on the Reading section of the CBEST.  These question types include identifying main ideas, drawing inferences, determining the meaning of vocabulary words in context, and organizing paragraphs.  CBEST Reading Comprehension homework consists of passages and questions that are patterned after the actual test.

Mathematics:
The program focuses on developing the problem solving and computational skills required for the Mathematics section of the CBEST.  The Mathematics questions consist of fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, proportions, ratios, probability, and perimeter items.  During the tutoring sessions, computation without a calculator is emphasized.  CBEST Mathematics homework includes numerous questions that are patterned after the exam.

Writing:
The program focuses on developing an effective 5 paragraph essay structure and correct usage.  Tutors assign several essay questions that have appeared on past exams and provide detailed suggestions on each essay that is written.  Grammar and usage assignments are given as needed.
